Restore windows, dont replace them
Replacement windows are not necessary in most cases. Your 100 year old window's have lasted this long and will last another 100 years with some TLC. Dont be fooled by salesman saying you can save so much money on energy bills but you have to spend alot more for new windows. There are ways to improve the efficiency of your old wood sash windows and keep the charm and character of the original look and style.
Window tuning and restoration
In most situations your window are in really good shape but they just don't work. A window tune will get the windows functional at an affordable rate. In the situation where something is damaged or just looks bad, we can completely strip and re-finish the paint or stain on the original windows and trim
Re-glazing
Glazing putty is something that needs to be done periodically. We use traditional glazing putty, not caulk, to ensure the results last.
Exterior repairs
Quaint Milwaukee takes pride in matching the historic characteristics of the original details in your home. Our woodshop allows us to replicate just about anything. We repair or replace window sills, trim, siding, fascia and soffit.
Door Restoration
The old growth lumber in your doors are far superior to the modern materials and techniques. Some time and effort in restoring your existing door will save money and the character of your home.
